We sponsor 7 boys and girls to learn a trade.
Life is slowly picking up again in Uganda, boda boda taxis can start carrying people again, curfews are shortened (9 pm-5.30 am) and hairdressers and shopping malls reopen. What a relief for people who have been suffering from hunger for months!
However, schools are closed at least until September, as are churches.
Sister Maria Marrone, has invented another one: now that things are resuming, she would like to send 7 boys to do a professional internship. The first of the series was called Brian and wanted to be a motorcycle mechanic. Sister Maria had sent him to learn at Ngetta and Alda and Carlo sponsored him. It was nice, because when they got a flat tire on the motorbike it was he who came to fix it.
The cause is in line with the spirit of Wecare: we will help young people to train in the profession and have a job, and then help their families of origin. In addition, this is also a work of prevention: we will avoid that these boys "get lost" or take bad roads to make ends meet.
We have allocated 500 euros for each boy or girl, which includes the apprenticeship course, board and lodging for the whole period of the course, toolbox to start working at the end of the course.
Ando here some of our boys.
