Maestro Carlo Olmo donates 250,000 euros for the operating block of Aber. A success or beyond all expectations. More than 320 people attended, on Friday 10 May, the big charity dinner organized by WECARE onlus at Terzo Tempo in collaboration with Mundiriso, with an exceptional team, La Sesia and of course many sponsors. At least 120 other applications for membership were unfortunately declined, because the space - although remarkable of the famous Risto Disco of Corso Marcello Prestinari in Vercelli - could not contain them. The evening also saw the contribution of the Dance Academy of Vercelli, which delighted those present with a splendid performance of Flamenco, and then continued until late at night with the music of DJ DAX. So much charity, so much goodness, so much solidarity. And a lot of joy. The 'charity dinner', we remember, had as its objective the fundraising for the construction of the new operating block of the hospital of Aber (Uganda) where WECARE has been working for years alongside the Combonian fathers and many men and women of good will, extraordinary volunteers including Dr. Francesco Coggiola, respected oncologist and gynecologist, Dr. Tiziana Gioira, Dr. Giuseppe Di Meglio, Dr. Alda Pagliano, Dr. Enrico Ansaldi just returned from Uganda, just to name a few. We have explained in the numbers behind the event with various articles the emergency situation in which the population of Aber (especially women and children) and what are the immediate needs of this corner of the world so beautiful but so unfortunate. Building the operating block in Aber means saving lives, at least giving them the chance to live. At the dinner there were many personalities from Vercelli and beyond, with the unstoppable Dr. Enrico Gastaldi (sole administrator of SP Servizi Pubblicitari) who, like Zeus, was setting the tables with the blocks of lottery tickets, 'reaping' adhesions to no end. A lottery created thanks to many sponsors, with many prizes ranging from slippers to rice, up to the 3 'top level': a fine cut of fabric by Ermenegildo Zegna, a precious women's watch offered by Gioielleria Biondi and the 22-inch TV offered by Euronics. Many and many children, who have interspersed in the very important role of appointees to the extraction of lottery tickets, under the careful direction of Alfonso and Milena Bonocore with the help of the animators of their local. Among the images that ran on the screens, in the middle of the evening, Dr. Coggiola, in the unusual role of herald, left everyone speechless, president WECARE in primis, Dr. Rosalda Binello. Among the roar of applause that followed, it was publicly announced that the finish line had been crossed thanks to the generous donation of Maestro Carlo Olmo, head of the famous Shen Qi Kwoon Tai Academy in Vercelli, who financed in full the construction of the new operating block in Aber equipped with the necessary equipment, in memory of his beloved parents. (His father, lawyer Piero, was not only a highly esteemed professional but also the dean of the Vercelli forum). An 'important' donation to use an euphemism, a noble gesture, of the highest meaning: "to become better to be united under one sky". "We were all moved, not only by his gesture of great generosity, but also by the beauty of his thoughts and his words - comments the Onlus on his Facebook profile - thanks to the dear Maestro Olmo the new operating block at the hospital in Aber will be realized in a short time" "A great pleasure and honor for me to have met Maestro Olmo - testifies Dr. Coggiola - his munificent availability has exceeded all expectations. In the presence of him all thanks seem inadequate". "We are already organizing the "Great Journey Anima Caeli 2 WECARE for Uganda" which will take place in August 2020 - announced Carlo Olmo on stage with a large group of representatives of his Academy - in fact, when I was involved and I was presented with the project, I just had to hear two numbers: the fact that there were 450,000 people like us who could be served by an operating block that does not yet exist and that these people are 400 km away from the largest hospital in Kampala. When I was told that this amount was missing to carry out the project, it was the spring enough to say "I want to be there", precisely because life, at least as far as I'm concerned, made me start a childhood where I had nothing and then I had it all thanks to my two wonderful parents who guided me from up there. It seems right and proper to me, each of us obviously within our own limits and abilities, to give what life has given us. I want to thank all my boys of the Academy with whom I am living in these years Rita Francios
