Here is what Velia, the adopted sister of Don Nader-Davide, writes to us.
All medical materials and equipment have been put into storage, we must finish the restoration of a house that will be used to put all the equipment, and open the clinic, it will take time to finish the work, we have a lot of expenses and we had to slow down a bit! The ambulance is already in service in southern Lebanon in the country of "Al Rmaile" having made an agreement with the municipality of the country where they welcome Syrian refugees and poor families. In Syria the war is over, and what's left are destruction, rubble, and families that have not only suffered loss of lives, relatives and friends, but have to face the lack of everything ... the war enriches the "rich" who are in power, but destroys or even annihilates the poor people, those people who, if they do not have a job, cannot carry anything on the table. This is the picture that the Don has found before his eyes, absolute poverty, and despair, which takes away the dignity of the human being.
For the new year we have two projects, one to buy professional instrumentation to analyze blood, second try to buy a camper (like the one you sent us and it was destroyed) and turn it into a mobile clinic with as many medical instruments as possible, to serve more villages in Syria by collaborating with the government that allows us to have doctors who perform their service for free.
A simple thank you is not enough for all that you and your collaborators have done to carry out so many projects that have become concrete realities in Syria and Lebanon, I can tell you with absolute certainty that you have the prayers and gratitude of all those people you will not know, but who thanks to your precious help have had so many benefits.
A personal and heartfelt thanks from Don Davide and me.
A hug Velia
